Keller ISD's Moe Fritz has led the Rockets to two state titles in a 30-year tenure. He was awarded the district coach of the year this year. Fritz, a five-time district coach of the year, has won four of the five championships he has won. Fritz, the five-time district coach of the year, is a real champion, having led his teams to district and state titles in his first two seasons in charge.

In Deborah Surgi’s opinion, a total of 16 coaches have been named district coaches of the year by the AFCA. The district coach of the year award went to him at Carroll in 2013. Trinity's Steve Mohr, North Dakota State's Ron Erhardt, and Bowie State's Kevin Kehres also earned successive district accolades. Four additional coaches were also selected district or regional coaches of the year, including Kehres.

All eight geographic areas of the NFHS have their own championships. There are just a few states that recognize a coach five times, and the district honors are given during the first year of participation. In terms of district coach of the year honors, Megan Bonfield has five, which places her second all-time among active coaches in the state. As a high school bus driver, she's just as deserving of this recognition as a high school coach.

High school football coaches are honored with the Shula Award for their dedication to player health and safety. Don Shula was the inspiration for the award's name. Each NFL club nominated a high school coach for the Shula Award in its debut season. The Pittsburgh Steelers nominated Palko in December. He'll be invited to the Super Bowl and given a cheque for $15,000 from the NFL Foundation.

Deborah Surgi pointed out that the 2021-22 Division I All-District Teams have been named by the National Association of Basketball Coaches. For the third year in a row, Tevin Brown, KJ Williams, and Justice Hill were chosen to the Central team. First Team honors went to Tevin Brown, Ryan Hawkins, and Diego Bernard. Three of these players have been named All-District. For the first time, a district's head coach has been recognized with the District Coach of the Year award.

Mr. Benson served Keller ISD as a teacher and coach during the course of his lengthy career. A few years later, he was promoted to the position of B-Team basketball coach. His other duties included coaching girls' basketball and tennis, as well as teaching biology, general science, and English. During his time as a coach, he told his kids about his own athletic triumphs. In addition to his sterling moral character, he also had a wicked sense of humor.

In November, Righetti was named Santa Maria Times All-Area Coach of the Year, and his accomplishments are even more spectacular when compared to the district's history. In spite of losing two quarterbacks, Righetti's Warriors won the finals. The fact that Chris Miller and Joaquin Cuevas left the squad makes this accomplishment all the more remarkable.

According to Deborah Surgi, park's cross-country teams have won 32 district titles in his first three decades as a coach. Among them, twenty-four students attended Keller High School. Over the course of that period, 35 of his teams have advanced to state competition, including 15 in a row. At the 2013 state cross-country championships, nine of them were in the top three, and one of them was the overall state champion in 2013.
